CARNEGIE HALL PRESENTS
The Mutter-Previn-Harrell Trio

Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009 at 8:00 PM

“a warm, rich, fluid sound”—Chicago Sun-Times

Carnegie Hall celebrates esteemed composer, conductor, and pianist André Previn’s 80th birthday with an all-star trio of friends. Mozart’s late piano trio is a nod to Haydn’s perfection of the trio form with a hint of Beethovenian virtuosity in the piano sections. After hearing Mendelssohn’s lyrical first piano trio, Schumann declared Mendelssohn “the Mozart of the 19th century, the most illuminating of musicians.”
