In this absorbing evening of unusual and deeply expressive chamber music, each work creates a unique emotional world. Hear Janáček’s sonata of grief and loss, Schumann’s pictures from fairyland for viola, and three pieces by Szymanowski that are full of color and a strangely beautiful kind of longing.
