CARNEGIE HALL PRESENTS
Nicolas Hodges

Zankel Hall
Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at 7:30 PM

Nicolas Hodges, Piano

BEETHOVEN Sonata No. 1 in F Minor, Op. 2, No. 1
FREDERIC RZEWSKI Nanosonatas, Book 1
HENRI DUTILLEUX Three Preludes
SCHUMANN Sonata No. 1

More Information:

The first piano sonatas of Beethoven and Schumann are both youthful and fiery. Dutilleux’s preludes are compellingly introspective, and Frederic Rzewski draws on scientific concepts of nanotechnology to compress romantic piano sonatas into tiny time frames. “Hodges’s recitals always boldly go where few other pianists dare,” says the Guardian, “with an energy that sometimes defies belief.”
