SEONG-JIN CHO, PianoWednesday, April 12, 2023 at 8:00 PM (Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage) Pianist Seong-Jin Cho returns in a recital with timeless music by Handel, aptly paired with Brahms’s Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel. The program also includes Sofia Gubaidulina’s gripping Chaconne, four Brahms Op. 76 piano pieces, and Robert Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13. |

ORCHESTRA OF ST. LUKE’SThursday, April 13, 2023 at 8:00 PM (Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage) Bernard Labadie, one of today’s most prominent Baroque-era interpreters, leads a regal all-Handel program with Orchestra of St. Luke’s and La Chapelle de Québec featuring soprano Joélle Harvey, countertenor Iestyn Davies, and baritone Sumner Thompson. The performance will include Handel’s Coronation Anthems composed for King George II, Music for the Royal Fireworks, and Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne, HWV 74. |

ENSEMBLE CONNECTTuesday, April 18, 2023 at 7:30 PM (Weill Recital Hall) Ensemble Connect’s final program of the season includes Valerie Coleman’s Rubispheres, a series of chamber trios dedicated to urban life and landscapes, including New York’s Lower East Side and Washington Heights; Dvořák’s Terzetto; Johann Strauss Jr.’s Kaiser Waltz (arr. Schoenberg); and Dohnányi’s Sextet in C Major, Op. 37. |

NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRATuesday, April 18, 2023 at 8:00 PM (Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage) Music Director Gianandrea Noseda returns with the National Symphony Orchestra, performing a program that includes George Walker’s Sinfonia No. 4, “Strands;” Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 16, with Daniil Trifonov; and the complete ballet score to Stravinsky’s The Firebird. |

DANISH STRING QUARTETThursday, April 20, 2023 at 7:30 PM (Zankel Hall) The Danish String Quartet returns with the New York premiere of Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s Rituals (co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall) paired with music by Schubert: the String Quartet in A Minor, D. 804, “Rosamunde;” “Quartettsatz” in C Minor, D. 703; and “Gretchen am Spinnrade,” D. 118 (lied arr. by Danish String Quartet). This concert marks the continuation of the quartet’s Doppelgänger project in which they perform music by Schubert alongside new works written in response to these masterpieces. |

BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRAMonday, April 24, 2023 at 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 8:00 PM (Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage) Music Director Andris Nelsons leads the Boston Symphony Orchestra in two April concerts. For the first program, Maestro Nelsons and the BSO present Ravel’s Alborada del gracioso; Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2, and the New York premiere of Thierry Escaich’s Les Chants de l’aube Cello Concerto featuring Gautier Capuçon. The next evening includes Sibelius’s Luonnotar with soprano Golda Schultz; Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5; plus the New York premiere of Thomas Adès’s Air for Violin and Orchestra (co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall) featuring Anne-Sophie Mutter. |

IMANI WINDSTuesday, April 25, 2023 at 7:30 PM (Zankel Hall) Imani Winds return with guests soprano Janinah Burnett and pianist Cory Smythe, performing works from their Grammy-nominated album Bruits, including the New York premieres of Vijay Iyer’s Bruits and Frederic Rzewski’s Sometimes, Reena Esmail’s The Light is the Same, and the world premieres of Taylor’s “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free” (arr.
