Weill Café at Carnegie Hall Opens to the Public in January 2024

Weill Café will offer two distinct new dining experiences for visitors and Carnegie Hall patrons including an elegant daytime coffee bar and Pre-Concert Dining within the historic music hall

NEW YORK, NY. JANUARY 4, 2024— Carnegie Hall, the legendary concert hall, is proud to announce the opening of Weill Café, operated by Constellation Culinary Group. Beginning on Monday, January 22nd, the Hall will open this historic space to daytime visitors for the first time, inviting them to enjoy a chic neighborhood espresso bar and all-day café. In addition, on select evenings, a new Pre-Concert Dining experience will be offered to ticketholders, a delightful prelude to magical musical experiences presented at Carnegie Hall.

 

Situated within the iconic walls of Carnegie Hall, Weill Café will be a haven for coffee aficionados, bookworms, music lovers, and anyone seeking a leisurely escape or an opportunity to visit this quintessential landmark building. Open from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Weill Café promises an elegant atmosphere inspired by classic European cafes, featuring rose-hued Gilded Age décor that evokes a sense of timeless beauty.

 

This jewel box destination will serve espresso drinks, artisanal pastries, fresh juices, and a diverse menu of seasonal soups, salads, quiches, sandwiches, and sweet treats. Featured menu items will pay homage to Carnegie Hall’s musical legacy and specialty menus will complement the themes of Carnegie Hall performances and programming. With its Parisian-inspired display featuring local artisans and house-made pastries, vintage compotier stands, and apothecary-style cookie jars, Weill Café invites patrons to relax, converse with friends, or get down to business.

 

Weill Café's all-day menu boasts a morning bakery counter with freshly baked scones, croissants, bagels, muffins, and breakfast pastries all served with butter, preserves, and honey. The café takes pride in exclusively serving Stumptown Coffee, known for its rich and bold flavors, also available in chilled grab-and-go bottles. For a heartier experience, a full-service breakfast and lunch menu awaits, featuring quiche, avocado toast, soups, salads, sandwiches, and an array of snacks.

 

On select evenings beginning on Saturday, January 20th, Carnegie Hall will also introduce Pre-Concert Dining at Weill Café—a signature, pre-theater dining experience for ticketholders. This unique offering is designed to enhance the overall concert experience and reflect the grandeur and excellence for which Carnegie Hall is renowned.

 

Pre-Concert Dining at Weill Café, under the culinary direction of Executive Chef Derek Prough, is a journey that begins with seated hors d’oeuvres, followed by starters, a luxurious plated supper, and concludes with an elevated dessert—all before the grand performance. The menu features indulgent selections, including goat cheese charcuterie, spring pea bisque, roasted rack of lamb, and a tantalizing array of desserts. An assortment of vintage-inspired cocktails, premium wines, and craft beers will accompany these exquisite dishes. A menu of expertly crafted cocktails will be creatively named as a nod to Carnegie Hall’s storied history and legendary performers.

 

Chef Derek Prough has over 15 years of experience in high-profile hospitality venues, including Michelin-rated restaurants, cultural institutions, and private country clubs. His signature approach to culinary arts is shaped by creativity and driven by the desire to create the perfect dining experience by considering all the senses.

Weill Café will be open to the public Monday through Friday, 10:00am- 3:00pm
