Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Insitute Spring Family Events Calendar

This April and May, families are invited to visit Carnegie Hall for a range of free and low-cost musical activities. From a new performance created specifically for babies and toddlers to interactive concerts featuring music from around the world, these fun and creative events are perfect for caregivers with children ages 0–10.

Early Childhood Concerts in Carnegie Hall's Resnick Education Wing are immersive musical experiences designed for families with babies and toddlers. This spring, families are invited to the premiere of huddle, an intergenerational exploration of music, light, movement, and collective imagination. Join characters fragile, fin, and hoof as they find each other and create a new community. This event is for babies and toddlers ages 0–2 and their caregivers; adults must be accompanied by a child aged 0–2 to attend this event. Registration opens on March 10 and is required of all attendees, including children. Tickets are limited to a total of four (up to two children and two caregivers).

Family Day: Spring Fest
Saturday, April 19 from 12 PM–4 PM
(Resnick Education Wing, 154 W 57th St.)

Tickets: Free

Children ages 3–10 and their families are invited to the Hall’s Resnick Education Wing for Family Day: Spring Fest, an afternoon-long free open house. This highly interactive, playful day offers families a multitude of fun activities that celebrate the earth, nature, and all things spring. Highlights of Family Day include instrument building with Bash the Trash; group singing with artists Emily EagenSkye Soto Steele, and Diana Schwam; a soothing sound meditation; hands-on opportunities to color and craft; lively mainstage performances with Falu and Swing Makes You Sing!; and more.

Musical Explorers Family Concerts
Saturday, May 10 at 12:00 PM and 3 PM
(Zankel Hall, 7th Avenue between 56th and 57th streets)

Tickets: $19 ($15 + $4 fee)

Discover music from around the world in this popular and highly interactive concert for children. Artists with magnetic personalities teach families all about their musical traditions—including Georgian folk with singer and guitarist Ilusha Tsinadzeson jarocho (Mexico’s “Veracruz sound”) with the Villalobos Brothers (Ernesto, Alberto, and Luis); and Zimbabwean Mbira music with singer and composer Dr. Tanyaradzwa Tawengwa.

Lullaby Project Celebration Concert
Saturday, May 31 at 3:00 PM
(Zankel Hall, 7th Avenue between 56th and 57th streets)

Tickets: $24 ($20 + $4 fee)

Hear enchanting lullabies written by families in New York City and around the world in this concert celebrating Carnegie Hall’s Lullaby Project. Each year, the Lullaby Project pairs new and expecting parents with professional artists to write and sing personal lullabies for their babies, supporting parental health, aiding childhood development, and strengthening the bond between parent and child. This performance features a selection of new works written this season—as well as the stories behind the songs—from the community of parents, songwriters, and partners who worked together to create them.
