Acclaimed Singer-Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist Featured as Part of Carnegie Hall's United in Sound: America at 250 Festival

(NEW YORK, NY; April 8, 2025)—Carnegie Hall today announced that a concert by acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens has been added to its 2025–2026 season on Friday, May 8 at 8:00 p.m. With her spectacular banjo and fiddle playing, passionate vocals, and perceptive songwriting, Giddens embodies a boundless curiosity that explores untold stories and reclaimed musical traditions that have shaped—and continue to shape—American identity. Joined by special guests, her May 2026 performance will be part of Carnegie Hall's United in Sound: America at 250 festival.
Rhiannon Giddens made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2017 and returned in the 2022–2023 season as a Perspectives artist across a wide range of programs in all three halls. She has also been an active collaborator in education and social impact programs created by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute.
Subscription packages for Carnegie Hall's 2025–2026 season are currently available to the public. Tickets for this performance can be added to current and new subscriptions for the 2025–2026 season, and may also be purchased as part of a Create Your Own subscription series available to subscribers and members on April 14 at 11:00 a.m. and to the general public on April 17 at 11:00 a.m. Single tickets go on sale on August 11 at 11:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at carnegiehall.org, by calling 212-247-7800, and at the Carnegie Hall Box Office.

ADDED CONCERT:
As previously announced, acclaimed vocalist and Broadway star Nicole Scherzinger will make her highly anticipated Carnegie Hall debut in a concert performance that has recently been added to the Hall’s 2025–2026 season. The former lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls, Ms. Scherzinger will be joined by a live band as she performs hits from the worlds of Broadway and pop music.

ARTIST UPDATE:
Estonian soprano Maria Listra joins the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir as soloist in its all Arvo Pärt program along with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Arvo Pärt is holder of the Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair at Carnegie Hall for the 2025–2026 season.

UPDATED PROGRAM:
Pianist Víkingur Ólafsson will now play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 72 “Emperor” instead of the previously announced Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 with Santtu-Matias Rouvali leading the Philharmonia Orchestra. The program also includes the New York premiere of a new work by Gabriela Ortiz and Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 82.

JUILLIARD AT ZANKEL HALL

ADDED CONCERT:
In addition to the three previously announced Juilliard at Zankel Hall concerts for the 2025–2026 season, a fourth performance, featuring baroque music and dance, has been added. Students from the period-instrument ensemble, Juilliard415, and the school’s Dance Division will collaborate in a one-night-only performance, led by Baroque violinist Leila Schayegh. Opening with Jean-Féry Rebel’s Les élémens and closing with the great G-major Passacaglia by Georg Muffat, the program will include new choreography commissioned for the occasion.
