Live with Carnegie Hall: Michael Feinstein

America’s Schubert: The Songs of Irving Berlin
Tuesday, June 16, 2020 2 PM Online
Michael Feinstein by Stephen Sorokoff
Jerome Kern famously said, “Irving Berlin has no place in American music—he is American music.” With a catalog of more than 1,000 songs—including such classics as “Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)” and “Alexander’s Ragtime Band”—Berlin is one of the most prolific contributors to the Great American Songbook. Michael Feinstein leads this lively episode of music and conversation about “America’s Schubert.”

In addition to archival clips from past performances—including a duet by Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana—Feinstein is joined by Cheyenne Jackson, Kelli O’Hara, and Tony Yazbeck for “Always,” “What’ll I Do,” and “Cheek to Cheek.”
