He opens his recital with selections from Mendelssohn’s sparkling collection of Songs Without Words. Always exploring new ground, he then dives into a virtuoso arrangement by the fascinating Scottish composer-pianist Ronald Stevenson of a Mahler symphony movement. Levit is acclaimed for his Beethoven playing, and he concludes his program with the composer’s emotionally spellbinding and technically dazzling final two sonatas.
