This performance is in memory of Greek composer, politician, and writer, Mikis Theodorakis who passed away on September 2, 2021. He wrote songs, performed not only by Greek artists but also by the Beatles, Shirley Bassey, Joan Baez, Edith Piaf, and more. Theodorakis wrote symphonic works, operas, oratorios, music for plays, ballet, and movies, including "Zorba the Greek" in 1964, starring Anthony Quinn, “Z” in 1970 (BAFTA Award) and "Serpico" in 1973, starring Al Pacino.
