Music of John Williams and Respighi
Friday, April 14, 2023 7:30 PM Zankel Hall
Chamber Orchestra of New York celebrates its 15th anniversary with a program titled “Voyages,” highlighting portraits of characters who embark on transformative journeys. The performance features John Williams’ complete Star Wars Suite and begins with Respighi’s Fountains of Rome, as the orchestra reflects the influence of Respighi's music on the works of John Williams. Violinist Salvatore Greco performs the U.S. Premiere of Salvatore Di Vittorio’s Voyages of Aeneas, commissioned and world-premiered in January by Teatro Massimo Opera of Palermo, Italy.
