Mark Shapiro leads The Cecilia Chorus of New York with orchestra and three soloists. The program includes a work by California-based Derrick Skye, which draws on Balkan, Hindustani, Persian, West African, and Western European musical traditions. In addition, the chorus performs a choral-orchestral work by Mozart’s frequent duet partner, Marianna von Martines, a folk song cycle from Bartók, and a work Mozart composed as a teenager.
