Cellist Misha Quint and pianist Tamila Azadaliyeva present an evening featuring a medley of cello repertoire staples from the 19th and 20th centuries. The performance begins with Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 1—one of the first sonatas highlighting the cello as a prominent voice—followed by Schubert’s Sonata in A Minor, D. 821, “Arpeggione.” The program continues with Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise, Op. 34, No. 14, and concludes with Shostakovich’s Cello Sonata in D Minor and Popper’s Elfentanz.
