Carnegie Hall and the United Nations, through UNITAR, continue a decades-long tradition of presenting celebrated performances that bring people together through music. This latest special collaboration features NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater, renowned bandleader and trumpeter Sean Jones, and an all-star lineup of musicians and alums from Carnegie Hall’s NYO Jazz national youth ensemble, including some extremely exciting young professionals. Experience the breadth, vibrancy, and ongoing impact of big-band jazz in songs composed and made famous by Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Mongo Santamaría, John Beasley (a Carnegie Hall premiere!), Wycliffe Gordon, and an NYO Jazz favorite: John Clayton’s “I Be Serious ’Bout Dem Blues,” to name just a few.
