Antonio Sánchez is a masterful drummer, bandleader, and orchestrator of all manner of jazz-rooted musical fusions. He debuts a brand-new all-star quintet in this performance, featuring saxophone giants Joe Lovano and Chris Potter, and a dream-team rhythm section completed by pianist Joey Calderazzo and bassist Larry Grenadier. A four-time Grammy winner and three-time Modern Drummer Jazz Drummer of the Year, Sánchez has worked extensively with Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Gary Burton, and countless others. He also scored and recorded the brilliant, drum-fueled original soundtrack for the 2014 Academy Award–winning Best Picture Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).
