Born in London, raised in Nigeria, and based in New York, Michael Olatuja—an electric and acoustic bassist, composer, bandleader, and producer—performs brand new songs and selections from his critically acclaimed 2020 album Lagos Pepper Soup, which features his spectacular blend of West African Afrobeats, jazz, and “cinematic Afrobeat.”

One of the most inventive and in-demand bassists on the scene today, Mr. Olatuja has worked and recorded with a host of artists who include Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Spike Lee, Angélique Kidjo, Shakira, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, Hugh Masekela, Tiwa Savage, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Terence Blanchard, Chris Botti, Kurt Elling, Kylie Minogue, Lisa Stansfield, and Joe Lovano, among others.
