Monsieur Periné is a musical laboratory that proposes a vision of the world, love, and freedom through transgenerational work. Led by Catalina García and Santiago Prieto—both born and raised in Colombia—the duo has received multiple awards for its unique and eclectic approach to music making that blends jazz, swing, and pop with Latin American sounds such as salsa, cumbia, and bolero.

Accompanied by a large family of talented musicians (drummer Darwin Páez, percussionist Roxana Valdes Taffur, bassist Eva Peroni, and wind players Abstin Caviedes and Jairo A. Barrera), Monsieur Periné has performed on many diverse stages, including Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza Chicago, Fusion Festival in Germany, and Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá, as well as in the UK, US, Central America, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia.

Monsieur Periné received its first Latin Grammy Award in 2015 in the Best New Artist category. More recently, Bolero Apocalíptico won the 2023 Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Monsieur Periné has also been nominated for Album of the Year (2015 and 2018), Record of the Year (2018), Song of the Year (2018), and Best Pop Song (2023). In addition, the duo has been nominated for two Grammys in the Best Latin Rock, Urban, or Alternative Album category (2016 and 2019).

In 2023, Sony Music Colombia recognized Monsieur Periné with a gold record for surpassing 4 million streams on digital platforms with “Mundo Paralelo” along with Pedro Capó. Additionally, the album Encanto Tropical was certified platinum in Colombia.

Since its release in 2024, “Hora Loca”—Monsieur Periné’s song with Rawayana—has surpassed 38 millions streams on Spotify. “Catalina,” recorded in collaboration with Cimafunk and Fux Beat, was nominated for the Latin Grammy’s Record of the Year.
