THOMANERCHOR Leipzig is a choir with a history spanning over 800 years. The motets of J.S. Bach, the most famous Thomaskantor in the choir's long history, are part of the core repertoire of the Thomanerchor, as are many choral works by other Thomaskantors. In this performance, the choir presents a cross-section of choral music from all eras, with works by Bach, Schütz, Mendelssohn, and Martin, as well as contemporary motets by Ivo Antognini and John Rutter.
