Tetzlaff Quartet by Giorgia Bertazzi
It’s always cause for excitement when the Tetzlaff Quartet returns to Carnegie Hall. The acclaimed German ensemble made its New York debut here in Zankel Hall—a performance called “supremely lyrical, exactingly detailed ... an overwhelming performance [by musicians of] superlative technique and invigorating intensity” by The New York Times. The quartet has been an enduring favorite ever since. The Tetzlaff Quartet performs Dvořák’s masterful, final chamber work; Jörg Widmann’s biting and wildly dynamic “Choralquartett”; and Felix Mendelssohn’s beloved String Quartet in A Minor, which the ensemble has recorded to enormous acclaim.
