The New York premiere of Eric Whitacre’s THE PACIFIC HAS NO MEMORY, for Anne Akiko Meyers, takes its place in the repertoire alongside Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending. Orpheus continues to expand the scope of the chamber orchestra in a new transcription of Beethoven’s “Moonlight” Sonata. Works by Joseph Haydn and Caroline Shaw offer different perspectives on taking flight and seeking refuge.
