Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir by Kaupo Kikkas
Arvo Pärt’s music is the rarest of wonders, a most remarkable contradiction, an artistic experience that is mystical, singular, incomparable … and yet universal. It “fulfills a deep human need that has nothing to do with fashion,” composer Steve Reich once told The Guardian. In Zankel Hall, hear a full program of Pärt’s works, including the magnificent Te Deum, performed in singular style by several of the world’s leading authorities on the composer’s music. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra make their long-awaited return to New York for this performance—a centerpiece of the worldwide Pärt at 90 celebration—led once again by the esteemed Tõnu Kaljuste.
