Jaime Laredo by Christian Steiner, Bella Hristova by Lisa-Marie Mazzucco, Isidore String Quartet by Jiyang Chen
Celebrate a new year and a bright future for music in this annual performance by the New York String Orchestra (NYSO). In this Sunday matinee, Jaime Laredo conducts the youthful ensemble in Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for string quartet and orchestra, featuring New York’s Isidore String Quartet. Violinist Bella Hristova, a longtime favorite soloist with NYSO, joins in Dvořák’s masterful Violin Concerto. The concert concludes with Felix Mendelssohn’s sunny “Italian” Symphony.
