Carnegie Hall Presents

Bruce Liu, Piano

Friday, February 20, 2026 8 PM Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage
Bruce Liu by Christopher Koestlin
Pianist Bruce Liu’s ascendance to superstardom has been swift. Incredibly, tonight’s performance is already Liu’s third Carnegie Hall recital, following his magnificent 2023 New York debut and a 2025 performance that earned four encores and acclaim for “imaginative program design matched by poetic playing [and] fiery and sonorous renderings” (New York Classical Review). Liu’s next recital begins with a charging, rarely heard etude by Ligeti, followed by Beethoven’s beloved “Moonlight” Sonata. The varied program also contains
Alborada del gracioso from Ravel’s Miroirs suite; “El Puerto” from Albéniz’s Iberia; Liszt’s Rhapsodie espagnole; and numerous short works by Chopin—including pieces that Liu performed en route to his first-place win at the International Chopin Piano Competition.
