Brian Olson recently completed his master’s degree in trumpet performance at The Juilliard School as a student of Raymond Mase. He received his bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory, where he studied with Steven Emery. Other teachers include Kevin Cobb and Peter Bond. Brian has participated in numerous festivals, including Aspen, where he was an Aspen Conducting Academy Fellow and New Horizons Fellow; Hot Springs (Arkansas); and Sewanee (Tennessee). Brian is currently principal trumpet with the Mozart Orchestra of New York and the New York Chamber Soloists. He has also performed with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and Metropolis Ensemble. Brian is actively involved with community outreach in New York City as both a performer and teacher. As part of his fellowship with Ensemble Connect, Brian teaches at Rachel Carson IS 237 Magnet School for the Arts in Queens.
