Clarinetist Yoonah Kim is rapidly gaining recognition as a young artist of uncommon musical depth and versatility. In 2016, she became the first woman to win first prize at the Vandoren Emerging Artist Competition. Yoonah is an active chamber musician and has attended several chamber music festivals, including Sarasota, Banff Centre, and Caroga Lake. She is also a member of Suo Trio, a piano trio based in South Korea. Suo Trio has appeared at the Sejong Center Chamber Hall and Kumho Art Hall in Seoul, featuring repertoire that ranges from Brahms to Jörg Widmann.

Born in Seoul and raised in British Columbia, Yoonah holds a bachelor’s degree from the Mannes School of Music, where she studied clarinet under Charles Neidich, and a master’s degree from The Juilliard School. As part of her fellowship with Ensemble Connect, Yoonah teaches at MS 167 Robert F. Wagner in Manhattan.
