NYO2 Nomination Form

Thank you for your willingness to nominate an applicant for NYO2, an intensive summer training ensemble for outstanding young American instrumentalists ages 14–17. Running in conjunction with the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America’s residency at Purchase College, SUNY, NYO2 is designed for students from groups underserved by and underrepresented in the classical orchestral field. There is no fee to apply, and the three-week program is cost-free for all participants.

NYO2 welcomes the nomination of musicians who will bring greater diversity to classical orchestra music and/or those who have not had access to highly selective training opportunities via major youth orchestra programs, summer festivals and camps, or similar experiences outside of their local community. Nominations may be made by any teacher, ensemble director, school/orchestra/band administrator, or community leader.

Following the nomination, the applicant will receive further instructions to complete the NYO2 online application. The information you provide below will only be viewed by authorized Carnegie Hall staff.
