Quetzal and La Santa Cecilia joined forces in Zankel Hall for Lalo Guerrero’s “Los Chucos Suaves,” a lively celebration of the spirit and energy of pachuco culture. This double-bill concert as part of Nuestros sonidos, Carnegie Hall’s season-long celebration of Latin culture in the US, brought together the two innovative, Grammy Award–winning bands from East Los Angeles for single evening of Chicano traditions and sonic landscapes from both sides of the border and beyond.
