An Evening with John Williams and Yo-Yo Ma One Night Only at Carnegie Hall
On February 22, 2024, Carnegie Hall presented a spectacular concert and gala event in celebration of John Williams’s orchestral and film music. Conductor Stéphane Denève led renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and The Philadelphia Orchestra in the first half of the program which included Williams' dazzling Cello Concerto and celebratory Just Down West Street...on the left. Maestro Williams then took to the stage to conduct a grand tour through some of his most iconic film scores, returning for multiple encores.
The entire evening was sensational, and the pre-concert cocktail party and post-concert dinner added a special touch to an unforgettable experience. We extend our deepest thanks to Gala Co-Chairs George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation, Yesim and Dusty Philip, and Steven Spielberg for their generous leadership.
