Tremün: Celebrating Indigenous Roots Concert

Friday, October 15, 2021 8 PM Weill Recital Hall
Tremün, meaning "growth" in the Mapuche language Mapudungun, champions music of and inspired by indigenous peoples around the world, including Perú, México, Jamaica, and Chile. This performance will feature premieres by Latinx composers Patricio Molina, Ramón Catalán, Aina Sandoval, Carlos Zamora, and Sebastián Vergara with Mapuche-poets Roxana Miranda Rupailaf and María Lara Millapan. Soprano Verónica Villarroel will also sing Northern Chilean indigenous songs.
