As a classical sitar player and developer of the “gayaki ang” playing style, created to mimic the human voice, Ustad Vilayat Khan inspired a generation to explore the finer nuances of musical aesthetics. The performance begins with an opening tribute performed by Mausiqui Ensemble, featuring a unique combination of music, poetry, and audio visuals showcasing the journey of the maestro, followed by a sitar recital by Nishat Khan, accompanied by Nitin Mitta.
