Chinese pianist and Juilliard alum Xiaofu Ju makes his Zankel Hall debut with a performance that showcases his musical imagination. Inspired by the idea of Waldeinsamkeit, a romantic German term best translated to “the feeling of being alone in the woods,” works by Janáček, Robert Schumann, Debussy, and Liszt evoke the experience of solitude in the forest. Endorsed by Ms. Qianci Liu, the performance aims to strengthen the musical and cultural exchange between the US and China.
