Lahav Shani by Marco Borggreve, Pinchas Zukerman by Cheryl Mazak, Amanda Forsyth by Jennifer Taylor
Members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) perform a powerful chamber music program with esteemed soloists. IPO conductor Lahav Shani makes his Carnegie Hall debut as a pianist, revisiting the role that launched his decades-long relationship with the orchestra. Violin virtuoso and Carnegie Hall favorite Pinchas Zukerman’s astonishing history with the IPO goes back even further. Completing this tightly knit lineup is Amanda Forsyth, an acclaimed cellist and founding member of the Zukerman Chamber Players, whose own Carnegie Hall debut was as a soloist with the IPO. In the intimacy of Zankel Hall, they perform masterworks by Shostakovich and Felix Mendelssohn, plus enchanting works by the German-born Israeli composer Ben-Haim.
