Timo Andres and Aaron Diehl by Maria Jarzyna
Composer-pianists Timo Andres and Aaron Diehl explore themes of American art and musical language in a must-hear duo recital. Presented as part of Carnegie Hall’s United in Sound: America at 250 festival, the program traverses a variety of American sounds and experiences through music by Duke Ellington, Julia Wolfe, and Thelonious Monk, plus Andres and Diehl themselves—including a Carnegie Hall–commissioned world premiere by Andres. Unique musical insights emerge as the artists weave these seemingly disparate threads into a piercingly beautiful tapestry.
