Troubled by the onslaught of killings of unarmed black men and after finding Shirin Barghi’s #lastwords project, composer Joel Thompson wrote Seven Last Words of the Unarmed, a multi-movement work performed by the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra and University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club, conducted by Eugene Rogers.
