With his history-making Carnegie Hall Perspectives series, violinist Maxim Vengerov is rewarding audiences with crowning jewels not only of the violin repertoire, but that of chamber music at large. Tonight only, he gathers an all-star lineup to perform Brahms’s impactful Piano Quintet and Clarinet Quintet, two absolute pinnacles of the repertoire. Frequent Vengerov collaborators Vilde Frang, James Ehnes, and Daniel Müller-Schott anchor the performance, with “powerhouse pianist” Yefim Bronfman (Los Angeles Times) and New York Philharmonic Principal Clarinetist Anthony McGill, Musical America’s 2024 Instrumentalist of the Year, joining as soloists.
