Carnegie Hall’s Sonic Brand

Carnegie Hall continues to evolve and reach new audiences through the power of technology and new media. We also recognize that many people experience the essence of our brand through the Hall’s unparalleled acoustics. With that, it is only natural for Carnegie Hall to have its own unique sonic brand inspired by the rich legacy of the building itself. Sitting on the corner of Seventh Avenue and 57th Street in New York City, this address has remained unchanged through music’s and society’s continual march of progress—a thread that connects past, present, and future.

This iconic block is the inspiration for a melody, choosing the scale degrees of 7, 5, and 7 for the sound that represents the Hall. This sonic brand was debuted as part of the launch of Carnegie Hall+, a new premium video-on-demand subscription channel that features the most thrilling performances of classical music, opera, ballet, and more from the world’s great stages.

To develop our sonic identity, Carnegie Hall partnered with creative audio studio Antfood, alongside Champions Design.
