David Bernat
Violinist David Bernat is currently a C.V. Starr Doctoral Fellow at The Juilliard School, where he studies with Joseph Lin, and is a graduate of New England Conservatory as a student of Soovin Kim. He serves as artistic director of the Grace Note Farm Music Festival, where he has been an artist in residence at its recital series for the past three seasons. As a soloist, David has performed concertos with the Fort Dodge Area Symphony and Waterloo–Cedar Falls Symphony, won the 2023 Brookline Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, and received third-prize in the 2020 World Bach Competition hosted by the Boulder Bach Festival. David has been a New Fromm Player at Tanglewood Music Center, a fellow at the Bowdoin International Music Festival, and a participant at the Marlboro Music Festival, Music Mountain chamber music master classes, and Moritzburg Festival Academy. As part of his fellowship with Ensemble Connect, David teaches at PS/IS 226 Alfred De B. Mason in Brooklyn.
