Isabelle Ai Durrenberger
American violinist Isabelle Ai Durrenberger is nationally recognized for her skillful and passionate chamber musicianship. She has recently appeared with the Boston Chamber Music Society, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and at the Marlboro Music Festival. In 2022, Isabelle was invited to join the violin faculty at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. She completed her graduate studies as a student of Donald Weilerstein and Soovin Kim at the New England Conservatory. She was mentored by Jaime Laredo throughout her high school and undergraduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Isabelle won the 2022 Borromeo String Quartet Guest Artist Award and was named a semifinalist in the 2022 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. She performs on a 2020 Sam Zygmuntowicz violin generously loaned to her by a private patron in New York City. She spent the summer of 2023 at Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, Marlboro Music Festival, and Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival. As part of her fellowship with Ensemble Connect, Isabelle teaches at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Queens.
